Why did he buy me flowers?

I broke up with my boyfriend in April and moved out. We have still been talking a lot and saying i love you. He bought me flowers the other day since I would always used to complain that he never did that for me. Does a guy ever just give flowers to a female friend? Is he trying to win me back?
