Buy me flowers when I am alive, don't buy me flowers when I am dead.....?

What do you think about praising a dead one at his funeral??? Is there a need for a tribute still for his sake?

Buy me flowers when I am alive, don't buy me flowers when I am dead.....?
While it is to respect the recently deceased. It is more so for the mourners as a way of coping with the situation and saying their goodbyes they maybe didn't have the chance to say. While many people say they wouldn't care because they are dead remember your family and loved ones aren't and it means something to them.
Reply:i think theres nothing wrong with that..
Reply:to clear the heart of any illfeelings whatsoever and leave only good feelings in the heart
Reply:good deeds always should be remembered; perhaps his/ her family members may not aware the situations you describe!
Reply:I think it's healthy and provides closure for the mourners. So, yes.
Reply:No. If your going to get a dead person something they could possibly be able to see while in heaven get them a big dead pig.
Reply:i guess you can't help it when you're grieving over a dead loved one.
Reply:I just can't forget you, so for my sake I need a tribute to you.
Reply:i think it is just a matter of respect for the person and their family.
Reply:it proides closure thats all
Reply:sometimes people feel helpless and need to do something to make them feel they are helping, buying flowers for a funeral can help, when i think about myself dying i think of the people i will leave behind not myself!!! so if it helps these people to buy me flowers and write a sympathy card to me then so be it!!!
Reply:Nah! Just send a six pack with him.
Reply:yes, i think it is OK. people are not animals so we still have to respect them no matter how they were when still alive
Reply:People are very shallow. When someone dies they'll send flowers and come to your funeral to talk about how wonderful you were but before you died they wouldn't even take the time to give you a phone call. I understand its respect for the dead but we need to start respecting the living too.
Reply:i like the "buy me flowers when i'm alive...." quote, hey i don't really care what someone does with me! cremate me, bury me, ignore me. I DON'T CARE! I'LL BE DEAD!

but seriously i think that if some1 is really religious and they want a tribute for when they die, you should give it to them.
Reply:Funerals are not for the dead, but for the family and friends to come together and remember the positive things.
Reply:you dont have to its just a nice thing to do but i do like the idea of the guy above with the beer. that would be sweet but youd be deemed trailer trash cause who does that?

still a good idea though if you can get past the streotype.
Reply:Of course, it is a beautiful thing that would have made the descent feel happy and alive
Reply:It's a modern celebration of someone's life. Personally, I wish people would think of saying something nice to your face when you can hear it, - it's too late when you're dead and gone!
Reply:what's the point in showing one's appreciation, love, or respect to someone who's dead? should have done it all when the poor fella is still alive.
Reply:its a waste of money, i mean, there dead, how will they even know

If I buy my wife flowers for no reason, will she appreciate it or come to expect that sort of thing?

I want to make nice gesture, but don't want to give her reason to be mad at me if I don't read her mind and do something she expects. That happens enough already.

If I buy my wife flowers for no reason, will she appreciate it or come to expect that sort of thing?
Do it because it is what you want to do. If you do it on a regular basis, it's easy for someone to come to expect anything at that point...so make it an occasional "just because" thing.

As for mind reading, I've never understood why some chicks think guys should have that ability. She needs to wake up and get real on that one.

Nice gesture though dude...hope she likes 'em. ☺
Reply:She will always appreciate it! I think that if you start to get her flowers every Friday and then you stop, she will wonder if everything is okay. But anyone that is worth giving flowers to should be a person that is happy with or without. Gifts like flowers are a way of saying "I was thinking about you" just like when you get someone their favorite candy bar. So get her the flowers!
Reply:So will appreciate it.. As well as she treats you well too.. continue to do that and other special things.. People enjoy being spoiled. Enjoy the benefits.!!
Reply:I tend not to buy anything for my woman becuase then they start expecting things all the time. Just treat her good with your mind not your wallet
Reply:She will appreciate it and she should be able to expect certain things from you. It doesn't always have to be flowers, but nice gestures should be given on a regular basis. Of course you should be able to expect the same from her.
Reply:A woman's perspective....

To answer this question to any appreciable degree, one would have to know about your wife, you, and the type of relationship you have. Obviously, however, that is not possible in this forum. So I will have to make some assumptions. So, indulge me a bit here.

Is your wife a nice person? I don't mean does she never get mad at you but, truly, is she a good person at heart? Are you a good guy? A good husband? And do you too truly love each other?

If the answer to those questions is yes then, yes, your wife will appreciate the flowers and will not come to expect them. As a woman, when we get flowers we appreciate them, first, because they are beautiful. Often our day is filled with hard work, messy chores, lonely hours, and an exhaustive list of things we do to make others happy. And the beauty of the flowers reminds us that there is another world out there, of peace and calm, and serene beauty. And those simple flowers bring a bit of that world home to us in the middle of living every day life.

Moreover, flowers from the person we love says "I was thinking about you" or "I miss you" or "I really love you" or, best of all, "I really appreciate all you do." It's a romantic gesture from centuries past, practiced by lovers for hundreds if not thousands of years. And by receiving flowers we are, again, removed from the day to day and our love is transformed to one felt across the centuries, enduring, and ever after.

(Hokey? No. In fact, the only ones who truly ridicule such feelings are those who never felt them, or those who were really stupid and lost such a love.)

So, will she come to expect them? No. In fact, a guy who gives flowers all the time actually makes the gesture more meaningless. Funny, huh? But by getting them all the time they cease to be special. Kinda like a kiss given as a habit before leaving to work, where the guy may actually be thinking, or even looking at, something else while kissing his wife.

But, and I say BUT!, what your wife should be able to come to expect from you is that you will continually show that you appreciate her, whether it be that you do a chore without having to be reminded, that you make the bed without being asked, that you help with the baby and actually act like you're enjoying it, that you give her a romantic kiss (not sexual but ROMANTIC!) just because, and that one night you let her pick the movie, or the TV show, or whatever and enjoy it without comment or remark. All for her. And, in these ways too, you show how much you appreciate her.

Think about it from your own perspective. You work hard. You know you do. You have dreams for your family. Things you want to do to make everyone happy. You have things you give up for them. And every now and then, while in the trenches of everyday life, covered in the sweat and grime of traffic, and another long day at work, and "boy the boss is in a mood" kinda day, it would be oh so nice for her to say "Thanks for giving us a great life." In fact, I dare say, it would mean the world to you.

So, do the flowers. Do the laundry. Do the romantic kiss. Send her a love note tucked away where she'll find it when you are work. Remember what brought you together and, by doing so, it will keep you from ever parting.

And do it with a genuine heart. Kinda like when you were younger and your mom made you apologize, and you did but said it in a snotty tone, then she said "apologize again and this time mean it!" A gesture done without a genuine heart does more harm than good!

A good, loving, reciprocal love is easy. All you have to do is love without question without end. And it's amazing, when you give praise and appreciation and attention what you can get back in kind. Maybe even a wife who doesn't get mad at you for "not reading her mind."

Perhaps she's taking you for granted? Well, then be the bigger person and you start. You be the first to make the kind gesture. After all, that's what love is. It's not about "what can you do for me today" but about "what can I do for you today."

Lemme tell you. My husband loves to go flying. And even though work takes him away for long hours, so does this flying. A lot of wives are unsupportive when their husbands do this, nagging and complaining and making their husbands give it up. Instead, I fully support him, help pack great lunches, launch him into his full day away with smiles and a kiss. And I mean it, really mean it, when I say "have a great time." In other words, I give 'til it hurts. And, funny enough, what I get back is a kind, courteous, attentive husband.

In other words, I give therefore I get.

So, give. Give 'til it hurts. And I shall pray that she is a good woman at heart and, as long as you give the gesture in good faith, will hope she will answer it in kind.

Love her. Truly, madly, deeply. Dare to love like is written about and read hundreds of years later. Anyone can have an ordinary life. What makes life extraordinary isn't the number of people who can recall your name but the number who smile when they recall it!

(By the way, when your wife is upset that you didn't read her mind, what she is really upset about is that she shouldn't have to remind you that you love her, are a husband and, possibly, a father, and, as such, have responsibilities around the house that you should do without having to be reminded of like a three year old child.)

Good luck!
Reply:We should expect ourselves to do kind things for our spouses!
Reply:it all depends on how long you've been together and if you've ever gotten her something for no reason before.

My ex sent me flowers (after never doing it before in two years) and I KNEW he had cheated on me (I was right)

My husband now is always buying me little things for no reason so I wouldn't wonder about a thing if he just did it.

If you've never done this before... try sending a card that says "I know I haven't done this before but I'm trying to change and start to show you more how much I love you."
Reply:buy her a small bunch of flowers, not one of those big decorated bouquets ??
Reply:I think your intentions are twisted. If you loved her and wanted to do something nice for her, it wouldnt come with strings attached. And it certainly wouldnt be with the condition that she better not expect you to be thoughtful all the time.

Maybe theres a reason you already have this problem with her. Sounds like you're pretty selfish.

Love is about the other person. If you love her, you'd do whatever you could think of for her, no matter what. You wouldnt care how it effected you because you want her to feel loved.

You gotta give love to get it.
Reply:She'll Love it darling!!
Reply:lol she would appreciate it. The thing is, for me anyway, I only want my husband to do it when he thinks to and it comes from the heart. Having said that---I wouldn't want it to become routine. I like it to be a spontaneous and honest gesture. You should be able to talk to her about it at a time when you are communicating really well etc.

We made some promises when we got married and only now--21 yrs later---are some of the things we have invested in each other coming to fruition. For instance, a few years ago, my husband began to ask if I needed anything while he was up or out. I was really touched by this--especially after he was very consistent about it. Then, I began doing the same thing for him. It has brought us new respect and love for each other. There is something very loving about trying to anticipate another person's needs.

p.s. during that good communicating time---talk to her about the things on your mind. Not when you both are upset--that's the worst time. Tell her u want to please her but don't always know what she wants. Ask her to tell you. It's a very common thing. Women seem to ALWAYS expect men to read their minds---not sure why or where that came from. I never learned that---I let him know when our anniversary is coming or my birthday--by writing it on the calendar. A few weeks ahead of time and in giant letters. BTW u should show her this--that u asked this question.

GOOD LUCK!!
Reply:I think it's a very sweet gesture. The sweetest thing my boyfriend ever did was pick a flower in the park we were walking in and gave it to me. I didn't even know he picked it. It meant more to me than having a dozen roses sent to the office!
Reply:I would be surprised and then I would be like "what u did" but in a jokingly way. I know I would appreciate it. I'd be very happy. I say go for it. I would even write a little note!!!
Reply:She will appreciate it either way, but if you are always arguing and giving flowers then it gets to be too routine and common and then it isn't appreciated.
Reply:she'll love it...i think...i mean, i would... just dont do it often or she will expect it.
Reply:flowers die. waste of money. get her lacey thongs
Reply:well, if she's normal then she'll appreciate it, if she's psychotic then yea it might go the other way. Just try it and see what happens.
Reply:I think that she would appreciate it! If she doesn't something is wrong! I think she would only come to expect it if every friday you bought them for her and then one friday you didn't. Do it because you want to show her how much you love her and for no reason at all. (Not because you did something wrong) then she will expect it.
Reply:I think it is a nice gesture. She would appreciate it as a nice gesture as well. I guess.
Reply:She will think you did something evil, like a girlfriend.
Reply:She will appreciate it.... I would if my hubby did that sort of thing.... Do it because you love her and you wanna suprise her!
Reply:I'd set a reminder every 3rd or 4th month to buy some flowers for her. When the reminder pops up, think about it and if your hear reinforces the feeling, then go for it. But don't do it on a regular basis or too often - that kills the joy after a while and gets expensive. Go to proflowers.com if I may recommend a service....their flowers are beautiful, the bouquets are varied and you can do it randomly without spending an arm and a leg.

How do I plant outdoor flowers?

I have my first house and I get to plant flowers! I'm so excited! I bought some flowers and I have planted them. I have a feeling I am supposed to be doing more though. I mean I just dug a hole in the ground, put the plant in, tried to break up the "bulb", covered it with dirt, patted the dirt, watered and moved on. Do I need to fertilize? Should I have used special dirt? Any tips or good websites to visit? I have many more plants to plant as our landscaping stinks.

How do I plant outdoor flowers?
some plant food really helps. miracle gro is really good and has results in about 3 weeks. helps flower and grow.

also the hard part is to remember to water every day and if temps are in the upper 90s or higher water twice a day

here is a website about annuals and their care

http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/1000/12...
Reply:Did you till and dig up the dirt to remove all the grass to make a bed? If you just plant flowers in the grassy ground, that won't work. You won't be able to mow the grass. Search how to make new flower beds on the internet. Or get a good magazine or book on flower gardens. Once you have your bed dug and the dirt chopped, you can add some potting soil and mix it. Then plant what you want and cover the exposed ground with lots of mulch. Water every day for the first 2 weeks and then slack off unless it is very dry.
Reply:Fertilizer would help it but a easy way to do it is to get plant and grown and just roll it out.

and why aren't you in prison?!

NOTHING will EVER be enough to make it up to her

let alone flowers

that is so pathetic

Reply:You simply have to get a crane flower (Strelitzia reginae) they do very well in hot sunny conditions in soil with a moderate clay content. Just water regularly when it gets really dry.
Reply:Try Vincas a.k.a. Periwinkles. They come in white, light pink, hot pink, purple, and some white and red mix. There may be more but these are the common colors I believe. Anyway, they are hardy and they will make a relatively good size plant. Space them out about 6-8 inches apart for a real good cover or about a foot to get the look of single plants. i like mine close together. They will also return the following spring (volunteer) if you work the dead blooms into the soil about an inch or so down. I normally just use a small, hand held, three prong rake to dig around in the dirt where the plant are and this seems to do the trick. When the cold weather sets in and the plants start to die I just pull them up.
Reply:Geraniums are good in full sun, and can take quite a bit of heat. If unsure, go to a local landscape place and talk to someone there.

Why don't men buy flowers more often?

Its a simple gesture and it can be so rewarding... so why don't you guys do it more... girls LOVE it.. especially getting them at work but even just a bunch from the grocers on a weekday evening... why is it soooo hard for you guys to do?

Why don't men buy flowers more often?
i have to agree with the 1st answer flowers aren't that cheep atleast the ones u diserve. with ur pic i'd buy blue roses.

p.s. in case u didn't get that there is no such thing so i'm saying i'd pull the impossible for u

Have you seen the price of flowers lately? %26lt;lol%26gt;. Also I've been told, "but they just die anyway." Perhaps we should make them a list of simple things to do to make us happy. They should do the same for us.
Reply:reciprocation failure, i.e. failure of the receiving party to provide good sx in return!

If you time your sx right you would recieve flowers at job (coworkers envy! recievers pride) and in the evenings!

I also like the answer of "becuase they are chp bstrds" above.
Reply:I don't understand it either hun!!! My man and I have been together for over a year and I still haven't gotten flowers ever from him!!!
Reply:Because gentlemen stopped existing after the nineteenth century.
Reply:Generally, we men just don't understand how meaningful it is to women. Once a guy 'gets it', he will do it more often! So, help him understand how it makes you feel and why you LOVE HIM for thinking of you and showing his love through flowers.

Best wishes.
Reply:because some guys just do not think of things like that, they dont think the way we do. some men find other ways to be romantic...not always in material items but, in actions and in words.
Reply:I think guys only do it when they are trying to win your heart, after they have it, they don't think it is necessary anymore.
Reply:You left out my in between don't and men.
Reply:You know why? Because most men (including me at times) are lazy. It's that simple. Another good reason, which I had an issue with was....what other flowers do you give someone you like or love, besides roses....which are so cliche.

You put the average guy in a flower store, he will make it easy on himself as possible, and get the roses.

I actually chose to look on the net while at work at what flowers mean what....so I'd have knowledge when I walked in the store. But that's me.

Maybe you should date a florist. LOL...kidding. I'm a smart a$$
Reply:I hate getting flowers. It's sooo unoriginal. I'd rather him make me diner or write poetry or make origami.
Reply:My wife is allergic, as good a reason as any.
Reply:Because they're cheap bastards.
Reply:flowers coast to much for guys to do it all the time. they think they have better things to spend their money on.
Reply:Probably because the guys you are referring to don't understand love the same way you do. According to the book the 5 love languages every person understands love diffrently. Useually in 5 broad categorys. those 5 are:

- Touch

- Gifts

- Acts of Service

- Quality Time

- Words of Affirmation

If the guys main love language is touch, he will like hugs and kisses, if it's gifts, he will give you flowers and other things, if its acts of services he will like to mow the lawn or do choirs for you, if it's quality time he will like to just talk to you, if it's words of affirmation he will give you lots of compliments. You can useually tell what his love language is by what he complains the most that you don't do. It will probably also be what he does alot. I take it yours is gifts, since you want to be given flowers. You probably also love to get teddy bears or anything, no matter the price, as long as it showes that the guy thought about you while getting the gift. However, if it's not his love language, he won't think about it. As he is expressing his love in other forms.

Then you simply enjoy them for as long as you can. Hope this helps you.
Reply:I don't do flowers, it's too cliched. I like to put a little more effort into these things and get presents that show what they mean to me and that I've put a lot of thought into it.
Reply:Flowers are like any other gift.

What is a gift something to let her know that you where think about her, that you where on my mind at the time I saw the flower or what ever. That I'm thinking about her throw out the day, and get wanted to get you something to let you know how much you I care and love you.

That’s what I’m trying to say.

Guys!!!do you buy flowers for your lady?

Im not a guy - but I thought if I could just get through to just ONE guy then my life on earth will not have been in vain.........

Buy your woman flowers - not just at the petrol garage when you fill your tank but nice ones, ones that you have selected as you KNOW she will like them because they are her fave colours, or smell or flower etc etc

My ex never understood the term 'its the thought that counts' - every valentines day he would get me a cheap, tacky, teddy bear (it was almost deformed) holding a nasty, tacky, fake rose, at the local sweet shop whilst he was buying his fags - I don't understand why on earth he thought I would like it but he always said 'but its the thought that counts' and I had to explain to him that he put NO thought into that what-so-ever, the idea is to think 'What would Nicci like' and to actually go to some effort to select a gift that he genuinly thought I would like and enjoy, not to grab any old tote because its convenient for him and means he doesnt have to use that one brain cell of his to actually think about it.

But you shouldn't expect flowers all the time or something, otherwise, your relationship would become one-dimensional and soon, you'll be thinking to yourself "WHY DIDN'T HE BRING ME FLOWERS TONGIHT"
Reply:yes ...this tells the lady that you have been thinking of her and that you care for her , about her , and she is the love of your life ..... oh yeh.... if your willing to go through a checkout carying flowers than you must love her ...

When guys are in trouble they buy flowers...what does a girl do to make up? I'm in deep...?

My significant other and I got into a stupid little argument last night as we were getting ready for bed. I don't even know what it was that he said but I pretty much told him he is in my bed and doesn't have to be. Then I realized what I said immediately and stopped him from going to sleep in the other room. We went to bed and this morning I find that he's not over it and I'm feeling really crappy right now...he thinks I really feel that way. The worst thing is, he doesn't care much for, "I'm sorry"

What are the best websites to learn everything you need to know to plant flowers?

I just bought some flowers seeds and am wanting to know how I can plant and keep them sucessfully. So if you know of good tips or websites please share.

What are the best websites to learn everything you need to know to plant flowers?
What you do is go to Google.com and type in the thing you want to know about, followed by site:edu. This gives you all of the well-researched, non-biased University sources without the liars who just want to sell you something.

For example, if you want to know which plants should be deadheaded to get more blooms, you might type "deadhead annuals site:edu" but without the quotes.

.
Reply:Try www.bbc.co.uk go to gardening clinic message board. Lots of experts there will help you.
Reply:yes, always use .edu sources. Research based. Also, check your counties extension office website....they usually have a link to the master gardener website and they are always helpful
Reply:Hi,

This is my "all" time favorite.

I've learned an abundance of this over the years from here, and they are good helpful people.

Enjoy like I have,

Have Fun!

Please note this is a girl I have known for a long time and been looking to ask her out for as long!

First date; Should I buy her flowers? What Kind? what color? when should I give her them?
Go with living flowers.

It'll be better than dead ones.
Reply:White roses. Arrive for the date with them and give them to her when you greet her.

If you want to do the really old fashioned 'wow 'em', bring a box of chocolates too. If she's young enough to live with her folks, the chocolates are for her mom...
Reply:Pink roses
Reply:no. u dont buy flowers.

open doors, but dont do it so noticeably. just walk infront of her and act likeur opening it for u because u were in front but let her go first.

dont give them to her either, it shows her that ur trying to impress her

dating is like a second language man. we guys know the words, but dont know wut the **** they mean. Women know wut they mean.

learn the language man. the sooner the better.
Reply:I was going to say pass on the flowers but if you known her for awhile, do so. That'll show your interested and you've had some feelings. Red roses are nice and give them to her when you pick her up at her doorstep.

Good luck.
Reply:NO FLOWERS! You look like a dummy with them, and they never last very long.. spend those $20 bucks pampering her, women love being pampered :P, well okay, maybe a teddy bear! since they never die. and you look sweet with them, and girls love teddy bears! or chocolates.. mmmm!
Reply:buy blue carnations, or a mix of blues and whites. Something kute but not too expensive.
Reply:Buy her Roses, the yellow ones are for Friendship....Give them to her as soon as you see her, if you are picking her up from her place....
Reply:Yes, just seeing her give an honest smile and present her flowers with wishes, and don't forget that your words should have a lot of care and respect for her. all the best, friend.
Reply:Sure, Not any thing to expensive but nice. A pretty mix for her to put into a vase. Give them to her when you pick her up.
Reply:Honestly a big bunch of flowers isnt really a great idea for a first date ...maybe on another date....

I have received a single rose on one first date and a fake tulip on another which even tho most people would think he was a cheap skate i thought it was a nice gesture without putting pressure on things .Even tho we arnt together I still have this flower and everytime i see it it reminds me of the lovely night i had and yes his face too
Reply:if youre going to get her flowers that arent roses, then they should be unique ones. not carnations. red tipped yellow roses signify friendship turning into love or something like that right? theres a website i saw ones that explains what each type of rose represents....but flowers in anyway are a nice gesture.
Reply:Flowers are nice, but something other than roses. I love any type of lilies, but that's me. Or just a mixed bouquet. Don't get anything too big, and make sure she has a vase to put them in. But don't go overboard. It looks like you are trying to hard. But a simple gesture is appreciated. And give them to her when she first opens the door when you pick her up. Have her leave them at home, so she doesn't have to carry them around all night.
Reply:u can buy sweet chocalate,roses,%26amp;any prize

GOOOOD LUCKKK!
Reply:I think just one rose is really nice. If you buy more then it appears you are trying to buy her. Don't leave that impression. if you continue dating then find out what her favorite flowers are and send them to her in a month or so. Girls love surprises.
Reply:Just take her to a pond with some bread, it will offer an intimate encounter but keep it casual enough to make sure there isnt any awkward moments...
Reply:Ooh how sweet:) ok first find out what her favorite flower is(from a friend maybe) if you don't know or don't want to ask then you can't go wrong with red roses, and you should give them to her at her door if you pick her up if not just as soon as you see her! Good luck and congratulations!!
Reply:I've been a florist for a long time. Guys often come in and want "casual" flowers for a date that are understated and don't imply: "the next gift is a ring".

Bright colors are fun and cheerful. They say "let's have some fun". Gerbera daisies are perfect for this and they're one of the MOST popular flowers around. Six of assorted colors in clear wrap with a simple tie will do wonders... make sure you ask for them to be in water vials to stay fresh.

A small clutch of totally mixed blooms will work as well. You could include some unusual flowers, but NO ROSES.

Give them to her when you first see her, so it won't seem as though you are hiding them -- saving them for a bigger surprise...

Don't make a really big deal over them. They say enough on their own.

Have fun!
Reply:Assorted bouquet. Trust me! It sends a message and sets a tone yet is subtle and doesn't scream I love you!
Reply:Whatever you do not buy roses....Roses mean Love and its your first date...I think you would scare her off.....Try and buy flowers that symbolize the season...It's winter so i'm sure there are florists who can recommend you a certain selection.
Reply:No, no, no. First date flowers = hella creepy. Save it for later.
Reply:you go to get her for the date...you knock with the DAISIES (not too meaningful pretty and not too pushy-white or yellow something suttle) anyways have them behind your back and be like hey! I got these for you! andt ehn thats it!
Reply:A single pink rose.
Reply:Give them to her when you pick her up and make them simple, colourful and feminine with some fragrant ones if poss.
Reply:prob not...might scare her off...just go on ur date and pay for everythin no matter what she says!!!
Reply:Sure! They do respect flowers.A mix of some type, just not red roses. Those signify serious love.Give them to her when she meets you at the door.
Reply:How sweet!!! I don't know what the norm is but maybe so it is not like you are to over board try a small bouquet of her favorite color or really fragrant ones but just a small simple one. Good Luck
Reply:take her to macdonalds, after that anything will be fine with her

First date, should i buy flowers?

if so what kind

First date, should i buy flowers?
Yes, a small bouquet of anything but roses (too cliche). Carnations are inexpensive, pretty and they stay fresh for a long time compared to other flowers.
Reply:Yes! There is many flowers and they all have a meaning to them. Check out this website! It has different definitions of them, you can pick out a personal bouquet based on her personality :) this will be so sweet and very thoughtful :)
Reply:Not alot of guys do this anymore. But, it is very romantic and I know I would be happy if you did that for me. Carnations they are inexpensive but last longer so every time she sees them for about two weeks they will remind her of you.
Reply:Yes! A simple grocery-store mix is good, but a potted plant might be better. Some girls hate getting flowers that die. Some only want roses. If you can, ask a friend of hers which she would prefer.
Reply:yes lilly, not roses because that saying im in love with you
Reply:sure, ask her.....but on the sneek side, call one of her friends.
Reply:yes carnations
Reply:Roses .. every girl know what does it mean !! trust me ..

romantic ^^

Reply:I think that would be fine. I think any type other than roses on a first date would be a great idea. Good luck on your date!
Reply:Then again, what if she's allergic to them? Long stem roses seem to be a favorite. I personally would preffer a potted herb that would look pretty, smell nice, and be practical.
Reply:You can find a bouquet of just about anything to be honest with you. You shoudl get flowers, that is so sweet!
Reply:yes always women love flowers or at least i do

go to one of her friends or someone who knows her well enough and ask them what her favourite flower is
Reply:yes, not roses- Lilly's, Gerber daisy's , sunflowers- something bright and cheerful
Reply:yes bring flowers
Reply:get her a black rose, theyre the most beautiful ;)
Reply:I love flowers. I think roses may be a bit presumptuous, but a nice bouquet of wild flowers might be nice. Ask the women at the florist-- they'll be able to help you. It's nice to see some men are still gentlemen.
Reply:YES! not roses yet. ANYTHING but roses!!!
Reply:FLOWERS---YES, FLOWERS..........

YES -----%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;----%26gt;---@
Reply:yes i think that would be sweet but I wouldn't get a huge bouquet just one flower but not a rose just look around the flower shop and find a pretty flower.
Reply:i wouldn't want flowers on the first date. It would make me feel pressured or as if you were too nice or pushy. Do it on the second date if the first one went well.
Reply:Umm, that would depend on the situation of the date, she won't want to walk around the whole night from wine bar to resturant to Theatre to .......,

However if you're collecting her from her house then yes I think a small bouquet of flowers would be very apropriate, something like half a dozen white roses or something.
Reply:YES daisies- their sweet but not too pushy
Reply:give her a rose-beautiful red rose
Reply:yes that would be really nice and would really put a smile on your dates face. Get some different colored flowers or if you get roses get some yellow or pink ones
Reply:Flowers never go astray. They are always a winner. It doesn't really matter what type, as long as they look good.

But dont buy them, or have them delivered to restaraunt, or wherever you are. Then they make some uncomfortable item that had to be carried around throughout the date.

But......you cannot go wrong with flowers.
Reply:Buy a white rose, it doesn't stand for love.

Should i buy the flowers or not?

I have been talking to a girl lately and i really am starting to like her a lot and she says she likes me too. I am debating on whether or not to buy her a bouquet and have them sent to her for christmas. Anyone have any suggestions?

Should i buy the flowers or not?
From a girls point of view, getting a bouquet of flowers, especially ones that are my favorite, can be a nice surprise, that raise my spirits up. So I would find out what kind of flower she likes the most, and wait a few days and send her some. Even getting her the flowers and giving them to her yourself would be a sweet surprise.

Would you buy a wedding wreath? a heart shped wreath of fake flowers?
no way, those things make me think of funerals not marriage!
Reply:I wouldnt. I always go for real flowers.

But if you want to sell something, you might consider the fake flower brides bouquets -- they seem quite popular and I have seen more than one bride on here saying they want to keep their bouquet as a keepsake.

A wreath of fake flowers... probably no one wants to save or use again. So it doesnt make much sense to me.
Reply:no no no, fake flowers should be banned. heart shaped? tacky.
Reply:i don't think wreaths are for weddings even though they do sell them. i think they should be left for funerals.

Reply:No, it sounds tacky and I hate fake flowers.

Hi on millsberry.com where can u buy flowers for your yard? example sunflowers or roses.?

Items for your garden can be found in the garden section of Pete's Hardware Emporium, located in downtown millsberry.

They sometimes remove flowers seasonally. If there are no flowers there check yardsales.

Hope I helped!

What flowers to buy?

Hi,

I am sending the 1 girl I want to date a bunch of flowers with a card that reads" Hopes these flowers makes you feel special" (I asked her what makes her special and she said no, i'm not special...) and in the card a ticket aboard a river cruise with lunch on that Sunday for 1-2 hours.

This is a reall lady - lady, so thats why I am sending flowers, she also told me she love flowers.

I want to buy a bunch of roses that comes in a bunch of 15,

I want to buy 7 white roses, 7 yellow roses and 1 red rose.

The roses should then be mixed and the red rose should come in the middle.

What do you guys think? Or what other flowers should I go for.

Thanks!

What flowers to buy?
Sooo Sweet..

I think you should stay with a dozen, 15 sounds like a lot.

and maybe for effect you should make them all 1 color except the one in the middle.

Vases make a difference so pick a cool one or have them delivered in a box..

and of course the color of the rose has meaning too

Pink roses signify elegance, gentility, and poetic romance, without the seriousness signified by red. Pink roses are more light-hearted than red and can signify mere admiration or sweetness of thought.

All yellow with one white...or light lavender with one white

Personally, yellow, red and white doesn't sound good to me

Hope your date is awesome..ahhh Romance

.
Reply:Sounds beautiful! Roses are always great! Good guy!
Reply:Truthfully it sounds like she has low self esteem and would be quite appreciative of any flowers, although to me roses are always the norm, and not "special". I would opt for exotic or sweet smelling flowers such as lilacs or orchids (which last a really long time!)
Reply:That sounds lovely!

She'll love it

Muslim guys - do you buy your girl flowers for Valentines Day?

I'm just wondering, since Valentines day is a Christian Custom, that most of world celebrates.

How about Muslims, do they celebrate it too?

Muslim guys - do you buy your girl flowers for Valentines Day?
why not, whats wrong in it? I'm muslim and I love my wife. I am looking forward to celebrate valentine's day. It's not religious festival or custom for me. it's just one interesting way to express love for sweetheart. I adore my beautiful loving wife and I want to buy perfect gift for her.
Reply:Yes, we buy Western Valentine card for womens to burn, and we buy new veil for womens to look good. Sometime we buy the gift, but that bad, sometime we give to womens wrong gift that supposed go to American Soldiers...womens get BIG surprise...BANG!
Reply:no valentines celebrations
Reply:It isn't a Christian celebration. It's much older than that.
Reply:What with all them wives ! you must be joking. Too expensive.
Reply:yes you should its valentines day duh
Reply:I am not sure about the origin of this day, but i don't think that anybody celebrates Valentine from a religious POV. however average Muslims are just like any other people who follow such fashionable occasions, but practicing Muslims are unlikely to celebrate it in anyway.

What is the best way to do my own bouquets and also to ensure I have the flowers I need for my wedding?

I am doing my own bouquets and centerpieces for the wedding. I did some trial the other night using flowers bought from the grocery store, and they turned out great; however, my wedding is not until July 4th, and I would like to ensure I can get the inexpensive flowers I need ON THE DATE I need them. I would prefer not to buy from a professional florist when I can spend half the money buying them at the grocery store! Does anybody know any good online retailers that will send undecorated flowers to your home? Or does anybody have any OTHER tips that could be useful? Thank you.

What is the best way to do my own bouquets and also to ensure I have the flowers I need for my wedding?
We went the bulk flower route. It went GREAT!

I'm in Michigan and went through a company called Horrocks. They are a produce store. They even made it so the roses were "left out" and in full bloom. Your grocery store could probably work with a wholesaler and get them delivered. They did make the bouquets. On site delivery was $12 and we spent $700 out the door, this included everything......centerpieces, bouquets, coursages etc. You can email me privately for pix.

I would go locally rather than online. I've had some really bad experiences with some online retailers.
Reply:Why not go to Michael's and get silk flowers for everything you need. You can even do yours in silk and they are georgous. But, if you want, do yours in real. A florist can do a bridal boquet very resonable. Depending on the grocery store is not a good idea as you don't know what they will have in stock or their delivery status to depend on.
Reply:I am also getting married in July (28) and my flowers, center pieces and head table flowers are all completely done. We were trying to think of ways to save money and we deceided to go with silk flowers. We bought them at places like AC Moore %26amp; Walmart. And the best thing about it all is I get to keep them forever. If you choose your flowers wisely you'll never know they are fake. And you can do them now and put them away until the wedding. This worked for me because I have one less thing I needed to worry about. The only flowers I need now are for the gentleman, my mother grandmothers etc. . and I'm getting them for an awesome price at Price Chopper. Good Luck and CONGRADULATIONS on the wedding
Reply:There are wholesalers online who will sell you flowers at a bulk rate, you have to do the arranging yourself though. It is a fraction of the cost. Check out freshroses.com or growersbox.com. Good luck!!
Reply:any craft store like michaels usually has a pretty good selection. they also have books there that you can buy to get other ideas. way to go on making them yourself!
Reply:I just got married in April. I bought all of my flowers from a wholesale florist, and I did all the flowers myself too! I got a great deal for everything. If you have a membership to Costco they do flowers in bulk. You can also google "flowers in bulk" and you can order everything online and they can send it to you the day before the wedding and then you can put it all together yourself. You just need to make sure you have a refrigerator to put all of the flowers in because they can wilt and die if they are too hot... I am sure it will be hot July 4th! :o) Good luck with everything! It is extremely stressful and make sure you have LOTS AND LOTS of help to put all the stuff together... I was doing my girls bouquets at midnight the night before my wedding! Feel free to ask for more helpful tips! I have done every cost saving tip alive! ;o)
Reply:The obvious solution would be fake flowers. You'll save money...And time stressing about getting all those arrangements together by the wedding date.
Reply:I've seen freshroses.com get rave reviews.

I would always check with Better bussines bureau to make sure they don't have complaints against them and then check site like theknot.com where people rate their vendors and can tell your what the experience was like.
Reply:www.flowerbud.com/

www.fiftyroses.com/

www.growersbox.com

www.sommerflowers.com

there are hundreds of places that will deliver you flowers.

You dont want to be doing this the morning of your wedding though. I would suggest ordering about 3 days ahead of time since most of the flowers need time to open a bit. Keep them in a cool dark place with lots of water and arrange them the day before your wedding. They will stay fresh.
Reply:some times silks look as nice as the real ones and you don't have to worry about then being over watered or not watered enough plus once the wedding is over you can keep your bouquet looking as beautiful as the wedding day and silks are tons cheaper.

Guys.... Do you need a reason to buy flowers for your gal or?

Do you just do it on a whim?

Guys.... Do you need a reason to buy flowers for your gal or?
You should buy flowers for your gf whenever you feel the urge. More often is better. Why?

I work in a shop, I overheard two women talking about the flowers we had on sale. The general point of the conversation was that these girls were suspicious if their husband got them flowers because it happened so rarely that they figured the guy must have done something wrong and was feeling guilty!! So buy them flowers often so they dont ever get to that point!!

Sorry girls, I'm sure you don't all think like that!!

Can flowers bought in a supermarket or from a florist be made to grow?

some can, if you can get the seeds out of them and dry and plant the seeds they may grow. daisy type flowers are the easiest. you cant do it with flowers that are bulbs or roses, they don't grow from seed.

Can flowers bought in a supermarket or from a florist be made to grow?
I assume you mean cut flowers. In general no. If it's a type of plant that grows easily from cuttings and the flower comes with a number of leaves, then in principle yes. You'd have to look up the individual plant and see how it's propagated and follow the instructions. Even then, things like the freshness of the cutting would matter, and you'd probably want to cut the flower(s) off. However, if something in a vase starts unexpectedly putting out roots for you, then go for it.

One thing that you might find at a florist that can be easy to root is willow--p.ussy willow or corksrew willow. The key here is to get fresh cuttings, not dried. Put them in water and they should do their thing.

That's funny--it won't let me write p.ussy willow!
Reply:if it is a potted plant yes and if it is a perennial it will come back year after year
Reply:Cut flowers of course cannot. Potted flowers can grow to some extent, however these plants were grown in greenhouses under highly ideal conditions, and it is difficult to get them to grow the same way in a normal house/yard. Also, these plants are forced into blooming right before they are brought to the store, so the flowers will die shortly after taking them home.
Reply:cut flowers? no, because the flowering part of any plant is never a good candidate for rooting, as that part of the plant is made for seeds, and that is the developmental path it will want to take, where all its last dying energy will go. everyone else is right about the potted flowers needing a gentle and incremental introduction to the new permanent environment outdoors, if that's where it's going. and i couldn't write p. toes (a type of flower) once on this site. apparently y/a have deemed it to be porno!
Reply:If they are growing in soil in the pot, yes you can plant them in the garden. You need to shade them with something for a couple of days because they are not use to the direct sun.
Reply:Only if it has roots. To make flowers last, cut the tip diagonally and as long as possible so that the water nurishes more. Good luck! You probably need a good Martha Stewart Handbook new in shrinkwrap:

I've seen very realistic flower arrangements for a good price at stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, %26amp; Tuesday mornings.

Do you buy flowers for your wife just to apologise?

If you buy flowers now, u will be buying them everytime u want to say sorry.lol. Flowers are nice when its just a suprise and not a means of getting back in her good books.

SO BUY THEM WHEN SHE LEAST EXPECTS THEM

you cant go wrong :)

Do you buy flowers for your wife just to apologise?
What do wives buy their husbands to apologise?

Years ago my wife and I had a terrible row, and the next day I went to Harrods and bought her a Jean Muir dress, which she still has. However, she said that an apology would have been much nicer. I have always remembered that.
Reply:It depends what ur apologising for?! If its a small arguement ya buy her flowers its sweet , try nd buy her something small that wud mean something to her to do with ye as a couple. If you have done something very wrong id consider jewelery!! Good luck :) Oh and of course apologise too!!!!!!
Reply:Just a tip for the guys who answer and read this....Flowers don't always work. Sometimes we want to hear that you are sorry, and what you are sorry for. That means more.
Reply:I'm not a dude, but here's my input:

That's not a bad idea for all you guys out there.

But don't do it too often or it loses it's special-ness.
Reply:Never ever but them,,,she hates them,,,

Do you buy you Mother flowers for Mother's Day??

Which do you prefer to buy fresh cut flowers of potted plants?

Do you buy you Mother flowers for Mother's Day??
Yes of course, fresh is best!
Reply:well I have bough flower before,Usually I buy hanging plants or potted one so they can replant them wear they want to.
Reply:No; she doesn't like flowers - but she loves ice cream, so we take her out for that!

I, on the other hand, love flowers; I prefer cut flowers, since I have lots of potted plants. While they don't last long, they're really pretty while they do, and I enjoy them immensely when my son sends them :-)

Reply:no. shes dead.
Reply:No my Mom has passed away but we do take my Mother in Law out to the nursery and let her pick out some flowers to plant in her yard or her outside pots. Then we go back to her house and help her with her planting. It's fun!
Reply:ye i put fresh flowers on her grave.
Reply:hyacinths
Reply:yes
Reply:I used to take my mom out to eat for Mother's Day. For the past 3 years we've taken flowers to her grave. I usually plant live ones there.
Reply:I do not do either. I plant my mom flowers on mothers day. she loves to see what kind of flowers will pop up.
Reply:SHE GAVE YOU LIFE SO YOU ARE GIVING HER LIFE. SO POTTED FLOWERS WILL BE BETTER SO THEY CAN GROW
Reply:Fresh Cut my mom has a cat and she likes to eat the potted ones. Fresh has an expiration date, easier to care for then they are gone.
Reply:Moms love fresh flowers... as long as she is not allergic. ;)
Reply:Fresh flowers die so quickly. My mom loves to work outdoors with plants, so the best choice for my mom would be a potted plant. I would defintately say though, it depends on what your mom likes. If she doesn't like working on a garden or with plants, stick with fresh flowers.
Reply:No my mother do not consider that a gift
Reply:I prefer to buy potted plants for her.
Reply:I do and have done every year. Fresh cut flowers. She has so many potted plants.

Where can you buy real cherry blossom flowers?

this is a very important question because my girlfriend whom i love to death has only ever wanted a cherry blossom, she has told me of her past.... when her and her father were really close, and there use to be a cherry blossom tree at her old old house along time ago.... she thought they were the prettiest thing she had ever seen, and her dad use to say that she was prettier than a cherry blossom, now her father has changed and shunes her, turns her way says things he shouldn't all she wants is a flower to remember how it use to be... so i want to get her one......... does anyone have any idea were to buy them....???? ive checked alot of places online... they are all artifical, i cant settle for a fake one

Where can you buy real cherry blossom flowers?
A garden centre...... only trouble is you've got to buy %26amp; plant the tree first.
Reply:How sweet of you!

The trees only bloom a few weeks each year, so your chances of finding fresh ones are pretty slim.

Perhaps some real preserved or pressed blossoms? I know you can buy those online.

Do you give a girl flowers for semi-formal dance?

It has been awhile since my oldest son went to his semi-formal to remember. Now my youngest has his semi (10th grade dance) and I'm not sure if you buy flowers for the girl or not.

Do you give a girl flowers for semi-formal dance?
I'm a senior and I think it's nice when a guy does something sweet like that. I think he should get her a single flower, that way it's not weird and she can I keep it for sentimental value. I know it's not prom or anything but it stills says he's trying.
Reply:You should give her flowers. It is really sweet! No matter what kind of performance, give the person flowers! When i was kid, my parents gave me a rose, even though i barley did anything!!!

I was in the Nutcracker last Christmas, and my favorite, beautiful role model hurt herself, because she slipped, but she still went on!!! i was so inspired that I gave her flowers and she gave me a hug! She said i was so sweet! It made me feel good, so give the girl something!
Reply:My date gave me yellow roses to match my dress for homecoming last year. I loved them, plus I didn't have to carry them around because my mom offered to take them home for me.
Reply:no i don't think so. but if you buy her a small neckess or earings, you score some point's without being weird. nothing too expensive.
Reply:I think that anytime is appropriate for flowers. If no other girl at the dance has flowers this one will feel especially cherished and that is better than anything!
Reply:flowers are always nice, if it is in doubt than yes because us girls love them
Reply:It's mutual. If your son knows the color of his date's dress, he can get her a wrist corsage in that color or close to it. She can get him a flower that matches the color of his cummerbund if he's wearing a tux. Otherwise, she can get a flower that matches her dress and pin it to the lapel of his suit jacket.

If you pass a flower stall would you buy flowers? I just can't resist.?

I love looking at them and smelling them, but I have terrible luck with flowers. They almost instantly die when in my care.

If you pass a flower stall would you buy flowers? I just can't resist.?
It makes me think when was the last time my missus got one, and does she deserve one?

More often than not, I get something.
Reply:No, only because I am not into flowers or plants. I used to do so much gardening when I was a kid I never want to own any flowers or plants ( pets neither)
Reply:I can't justify the expense. Besides, I'd never be around to admire them, I'm always busy.
Reply:I love flowers, but not usually..... usually too expensive. plus, I usually don't have cash on me :) (always a good way to avoid surprise expenses like that! not that that is my intention or anything!) I think it's nice that you do that, though.... probably makes their day to be making sales %26amp; makes your day to have fresh flowers.

To guys: Do you prefer to buy flowers for your love ones during valentine's day? or you have other choices?
no. guys should deifnately buy flowers. and not cheap ones either. and guys should be more ramantic than girls, because is we arent romantic, guess what. GIRLS WILL HATE US EVEN MORE
Reply:I don't prefer to do any of it, but they throw a b*tch fit if I don't.

If u are someplace warm anything above 50 degrees this would work for me go to the park have a few blankets pack a lunch with some sandwiches a little pasta thermas of hot chocolate or coffee, some fruit and enjoy the day even if it´s cold u can keep eachother warm. she won´t like it only if she a B....

if your in a snow then try the picnic in doors in front of a fire

would work for me.

Surprise me with flowers any other day just not when ever female on the planet is getting them. BUt if u feel obligated to give flowers then one flower that pops out as your keeping each other warm get the picture 1 uno not dozen doesn´t have to be a rose......a tulip because she is as lovely as spring. or as deliciate and beautiful as a orcid

The stem of orcids worked for me I went over for dinner and stay for breakfast.
Reply:I am going to buy my gf flowers and a card :)
Reply:Sorry, I know you put this up for guys...but I think both guys and girls should be romantic, equally, not one more than others, and as far as flowers, I love them, however, always getting flowers on valentine's day is a little predictable, I'd say do something else on Valentines Day and send flowers for no reason some other time.
Reply:I think flowers are for an anytime occasion and for valentine's maybe something more romantic and personal. I was thinking maybe rose pedals spread around the bedroom with some champagne on ice, a fruit bowl beside the bed, and other fun items to share as the night goes on. I think using your imagination is a great thing and a lot of fun as well.

As far as being the most romantic I think it should be 50 / 50. I guess it would depend on the person and how comfortable they are with it.
Reply:i have never been in a relationship, but i would buy chocolates and ask her to go to lunch or something like that.

Where do you buy poppy seeds or flowers?

There are many species plants called poppy, one of which is used to make opium (not cocaine). Small red poppy seeds and California poppy seeds are easy to come by from most seed catalogs, and they are easy to grow. In this country it is hard to find seeds for the large opium style poppies (Papaver somniferum), though they are widely grown in Europe. There are also perennial poppies in many colors -- the plants flower every year.

Where do you buy poppy seeds or flowers?
Since poppy seeds are used to make Cocaine, I do not believe you can actually purchase flowers. I have seen poppy seeds for sale in grocery stores or farm supply places. I even have had them mailed to me. Which is probably not legal.

Hope this helps you.
Reply:You can purchase over 50 different varieties of poppy seeds at this COOL website. www.OneStopPoppyShoppe.com
