When you buy flowers, do you buy them from a floral shop, grocery store or convience mart?

I go out to my garden and cut them myself

gardenia, rose, anything you like

When you buy flowers, do you buy them from a floral shop, grocery store or convience mart?
I guess I would prefer to buy it from a floral shop. I am a big admirer of specialty stores. Having said that, a big and large-format store, like a typical hypermarket, might even have a wider range of flowers at lesser price-points! So, it will be a toss between a floral shop and/or a hypermarket, depending on which one is closer to my office/residence and also depending on the variety/range of flowers that are available.
Reply:well, I'm kinda a free lance florist, I do weddings and events, but don't really own a shop, (NOOO money in the day to day floral business!) So I buy online from a grower at wholesale in bulk for those events. If I only need a little just to give to someone I end up going to the grocery store and getting the stuff to make it myself b/c I'm too anal about letting someone else do my flowers for me! Its all the same stuff anyway, everybody gets their stuff from the same wholesale houses and grower situations anyway, if you know what to look for in flowers you can get just as good quality at a 3rd of the price as at a florist.
Reply:I always pluck from garden without seeking permission of gardener. I never had that much of money to buy the flower .I never buy any thing from market whether its a grocery , clothes, or any other item, i only manipulate.
Reply:Floral shop because the temperature inside the shop keep flowers at their optimum condition; the shop normally would have a wider variety for customers to choose from.
Reply:Grocery store because I am cheap. I mean come on they are going to die later on anyway. I mostly buy them at the dollar store because the ones there are plastic and they last forever.
Reply:I live10 mins from a market garden that wholesales flowers.

It's not that I'm cheap (biased opinion) but I can:

- get more scent for my cents

- support local company

- wider and fresher choice
Reply:I have found that the ones from the grocery store last longer than the ones from a flower shop
Reply:I buy from a florist. Their flowers last much longer than the ones you find elsewhere.
Reply:FLORIST OR NURSERY ONLY
