Why do people buy flowers and mulch when the weather is bad and it is like raining? Is it that necessary?

The poor people in the lawn and garden store departments have to get wet and carry all that stuff. It just seems a little rude and odd to me. What do you think?

They are bored sitting at home while its raining so they go shopping. Esp for items they can use once the weather clears up.





Trust me. They dont think at all about the people who have to carry the wet stuff. The shopping public is very rude. About 40% of them . Higher than you would think.
Reply:Well, I for one do not plan my schedule around the weather. Instead, I have to plan around my job and family responsibilities. Sometimes the only opportunity I have to go to the garden center is on a Saturday morning. I can't wait until the next time the weather is perfect and the store is open. Mulch does not go bad -- you can buy it weeks in advance. Flowers will be fine given the proper lighting and water. I have had a 6-pack of pansies for the past two weeks that I have not had time to plant. I over-bought at the store and ran out of room to put the last few flowers. The will have to wait until I get paid so that I can purchase a new flower pot. They will be fine until then.
Reply:We're all so busy these days! It's hard to find time to do all our necessary chores, such as yard work. If Saturday afternoon is the only chance, then that's when it's gotta be done - rain or shine. I'm sure those customers aren't crazy about working in the rain, either. But you can't expect people to put their lives on hold just so the whiney kid at the garden shop doesn't get his hair wet. He's getting paid to do a job... and if that means working in the rain sometimes, well, that's life! We all do what we gotta do.
Reply:Perhaps they want to brighten up your day. Flowers are so beautiful and when you receive them you feel special. Anyways when it is raining it feels like a wet useless day . But if you did receive flowers on that day you would feel special and appreciated
Reply:maybe the people dont know it is going to rain when they came in or maybe they needed the stuff anyway and decided to get it then since they were already at the store.
Reply:It may be the only opportunity they have. I carry my own stuff, anyway.
