Would you buy flowers from a vending machine?

My uncle has a company selling flower shops these new touch screen flower vending machines. What do you think of this idea. Flower shops buy the machines and then put them in nearby hospitals, hotels, office buildings, shopping malls etc. You can see a video of the vending machine on youtube (search for flower vending) or at www.kioskvid.com if you want to see how it works.

WOW what a great concept. Would the flowers be removed and replaced at least weekly? It would be up to local florists to help make this business happen, they'd need to keep the flowers fresh. You'd have to have them at gas stations, too. Guys would love the easy buying of flowers and ladies would love it because it wouldn't be a cheesy fake rose in a plastic wrapper. GREAT invention!
Reply:What a unique idea. Yes, I would. Jennifer
Reply:I would have to say it's a bit strange to purchase a plant or flower from a vending machine. If the price was right and the vending machine was more convenient than going to a gift shop or flower shop then I think it'd be a great idea.

Not only that, but there may be late night or weekend visitors that may not have ample time to make it to a hospital gift shop before closing time.

In the long run I don't think it'll outdo flower shops or gift shops as they usually have more items (chocolates, stuffed animals, balloons, cards, etc.) than a vending machine.
Reply:It's a great idea and has already been used in Europe and Asia.
